Rummenigge: Bayern Munich paid less for Allianz Arena than PSG did for Neymar
As Paris Saint-Germain prepare to hand a debut to 222 million euro
signing Neymar, Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has remarked
that his club paid less for their 75,000-seater stadium.

Taxes, wages
and additional fees are expected to tip the total cost of signing the
Brazilian past the 340m euros Die Roten paid for the new home in 2005.
"During
the discussion about Neymar's transfer, I asked myself what is more
important: Neymar or the Allianz Arena," he told Sport Bild.
"I must
say, it's clear that for us that the Allianz Arena is more important.
The whole of Neymar's transfer came out as more expensive.
"Bayern
have to represent another philosophy, we do not want to get into that
madness, nor can we, and that's okay, and I think that public opinion
and our fans understand that."
Urging greater 'rationality' in the
transfer market, the 61-year-old discussed his attempts to introduce a
salary cap when representing European clubs as head of the European Club
 Association (ECA).
"In 2011, before creating Financial Fair Play, I
was with Michel Platini in Brussels on several occasions," Rummenigge
continued.
"The goal was to introduce a salary cap at a European
level. It was rejected. I do not understand why the political leaders
rejected the common desire of the clubs and UEFA.
"Public opinion will eventually no longer accept what is happening and fans will lose their link with football."
